Truro Indoor Sevens Tournament, March 12 - 14 2010

We are happy to announce plans for the 34th Annual Truro Indoor Sevens Tournament. The tournament will be held from March 12th to March 14th, pending Rugby Nova Scotia sanctioning and will feature play in four divisions:

• MEN'S 'A' DIVISION - Teams, highly skilled, very competitive
• MEN'S 'B' DIVISION - Teams, less skilled, Competitive
• WOMEN'S ‘A’ DIVISION- Teams highly skilled, very competitive
• WOMEN’S ‘B’ DIVISION – Teams less skilled, but competitive

Each team may include a maximum of eleven players. The entry fee of $300.00 per team includes tickets to the Saturday night social event for each registered player.

Teams must meet the following criteria in order to be accepted:

• All players must be registered with Rugby Canada and covered by Rugby Canada Insurance.
• All entries must be acceptable to Rugby Nova Scotia and Rugby Canada.

The Tournament will begin at 10:30 am on Friday March 12th, 2010. All teams will play at least one game on Friday. Competition will continue throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday with the Finals and Award Ceremony on Sunday afternoon. The tournament format will once again be a single knock out with a consolation round. All teams will be guaranteed at least (2) games.

The deadline for Entries is February 19, 2010. The draw will then be made and the first round of the competition will be posted on our website: www.trurorugbyclub.ca in order to give everyone plenty of time to make travel arrangements. The tournament fills up quickly and teams will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. There will be no exceptions or excuses. To ensure even levels of skill in the “B” division, it will be regulated best as possible to ensure fair competition.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the tournament canteen and the tournament lounge. Players and spectators will not be allowed to bring alcoholic beverages into the building. Bags will be searched by professional security staff at all entrances, as required by our license and insurance policy.

This unique tournament has proven to be an exciting and enjoyable event. It will again bring the Rugby Community together during the winter season. We look forward to another successful rugby weekend and hope that your team will join us.
